The red led in the clock is flashing

It goes off when the ignition is on

Does this have any significance?

Yes,this is the immobilser warning light. If it flashes with the ignition on,you have a problem.

OK,I'll rephrase the question

Is there any significance in the light flashing with the ignition off?

Does every Mondeo have this???

" immobiliser active " is the best way to describe this light. Fitted to all Mondeos and virtually all other cars. Usually on the dash somewhere, or on top of the door caps (VW Audi), rear view mirror.
