Lights come on on start up and cannot be switched off other than turning off ignition and key out. Was this a recall issue and if not, what is likely case.......staulk switch, relay ?
By lights I'm assuming you mean the Daytime running lamps? These are a legal requirement on any new vehicle introduced to the EU market since 2011 and can't be switched off.
The Ypsilon was introduced in 2011 so it will have daytime running lights as standard as per EU law. She probably didn't realise they were on. These can't be disabled by the driver so she's never been able to switch them off.
