Skoda Fabia Mark 111 1.2 TSI - Fault finding - starting problem - hgb

My Fabia had a starting problem today - the engine started as normal and then immediately cut out. Completely dead and no dash lights, but electric windows, indicators etc working. The AA checked fuses etc, all ok. The AA disconnected the battery for a few mins and when it was reconnected the engine started immediately and everything was back to normal. I'm booking the car in to have it checked but I'm concerned that nothing will be found and then the problem recurs. Have you any thoughts about the cause of the problem and how to stop it happening again? Thanks

Could be a low voltage battery issue.I would get this tested first before throwing money at the complicated stuff.

Thanks. Hopefully that will be checked by the dealer. But I think that if a low battery was the problem the the engine wouldn't have started at all. As it was, the engine started but then cut out. Also after the battery was disconnected/ reconnected it started without a problem.
