Fiat 600 At A Glance

+All electric Fiat will replace the Fiat 500X.

-Expected to be quite pricey.

The new Fiat 600, due to go on sale in mid 2023, will be a successor to both the Fiat 500X SUV and Fiat 500L MPV.

In the UK, the new Fiat 600 will be exclusively available as an electric car, utilising the same platform as the new Jeep Avenger. This electric variant will face fierce competition in the small SUV market, with a wide array of contenders, including the Ford Puma and Toyota Yaris Cross.

Moreover, the electric Fiat 600 will contend with other electric rivals such as the Vauxhall Mokka Electric, Peugeot e-2008, Kia Niro EV, DS 3 E-Tense, Hyundai Kona EV, the forthcoming electric Ford Puma, and the exciting new Volvo EX30.

Full details of the new Fiat 600 are set to be revealed this summer, fueling anticipation for online orders, expected to open later this year.

The first deliveries of the new model are scheduled to commence in early 2024. Although exact pricing is yet to be confirmed, it is anticipated to be in line with the Jeep Avenger, with the electric Fiat 600 starting at approximately £37,000.

Exuding modernity with hints of the iconic Fiat 500e city car, the styling of the new Fiat 600 is a carefully crafted evolution of the current Fiat 500X, accentuated by crossover SUV aesthetics for an air of sophistication.

Large round LED headlights at the front, integrated with indicators resembling eyelashes, lend an eye-catching appeal, while a bold 3D grille, adorned with the new Fiat 600 logo, commands attention.

To enhance its robust appearance and safeguard against minor scrapes, the new Fiat 600 features black lower body cladding extending from the front to the rear, with another logo at the rear lower sill. Expect a diverse range of vibrant colors, including satin finish paint options.

Inside, the new Fiat 600 showcases a round driver's binnacle reminiscent of the Fiat 500e and a spacious central touchscreen of around 10.25 inches.

Combining character with sophistication, the interior design caters to a more mature audience than its smaller sibling, the Fiat 500e, and retains physical buttons on the center dashboard for added convenience. The inclusion of ambient lighting and improvements in quality and tactility are expected to elevate the cabin's premium feel.

The architecture of the new Fiat 600 promises ample interior space for both front and rear passengers, with high-set seats for optimal visibility. Benefiting from batteries positioned underneath the floor, the vehicle offers a generous boot space of approximately 350 litres. With a length of around 4.1 metres, it stands larger than the Fiat 500e, a comparable size to competitors like the Jeep Avenger and Vauxhall Mokka Electric.

In terms of performance, the new Fiat 600 will be exclusively available as an electric variant, possibly named the Fiat 600e.

Equipped with a 156ps electric motor, it boasts impressive pulling power, with an estimated 0-62mph acceleration time of around 9.0 seconds, effortlessly delivered through the standard automatic gearbox. The top speed is likely to be electronically limited to approximately 93mph.

Powering the electric motor is a 54kWh lithium-ion battery, promising a commendable range of approximately 250 miles on a full charge. Moreover, the new Fiat 600 will offer 100kW DC rapid charging capability, allowing for a charge from 20% to 80% in approximately 25 minutes.

While other markets may receive the option of a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, the UK market will likely focus solely on the appealing and eco-conscious electric Fiat 600.
