I believe a have been mis-sold a car - do I have any rights?
Three weeks ago I purchased a used Ford C-MAX from a local dealer. The part exchange vehicle was a 1.6-litre Ford Focus with a 125PS petrol engine and I indicated to the salesman that I was only interested in an exchange for a vehicle offering similar power. None of the presale documentation indicated the power output of the C-MAX but it was my belief that the salesman understood my requirement. Previous vehicles I have owned have had the engine power output indicated in the log book, but when this arrived just before Christmas this detail was not indicated. Having carried a full load of passengers for the first time yesterday, I felt the C-MAX lacked power, so I have paid a visit to the dealers' head office today and they confirm that the engine offers only 100PS. Obviously I am aggrieved and I would value your advice before going back to confront the salesman as I think the vehicle has been mis-sold to me.

If you specifically asked for the 125PS engine and did not get it then you have been mis-sold and can return the car for a refund. The original 1.6 C-MAX Ti-VCT 125 engine was later replaced with the 1.0 EcoBoost engine with 100PS or 125PS, so you seem to have got a 1.0 EcoBoost with 100PS.
