The new Duster - 1.5 DCi okay for 10k miles per year?

I'm very tempted by the new Duster (I saw one in Renault Cardiff yesterday). I don't really do enough miles to warrant a diesel, but I would want the highest trim and diesel is the only engine available. Mostly it would do short journeys in town (a few miles, once or twice a day), but with a 10 mile run at 50+mph 3 or 4 times a week. Would the frequent short journeys likely cause DPF issues (or any other issues), or would the longer runs be enough to keep everything healthy? I'd be looking to keep it for 3-5 years (probably getting the 2 year extension on the warranty).

It might be okay because Renault has worked hard on this engine. Unbelievably it is also fitted to the low CO2 version of the new Mercedes A Class, so if a neighbour gets one of these you can smugly remark, "same engine".
