Fined for parking even though I paid already
I recently paid for parking for a full weekend in Blackpool. I put £14 in the machine, which neither gave me a ticket or a refund. I spent an hour trying to ring the numbers on their display boards and got nowhere.
As I had no more money or method of further payment, I put a full explanation on the dash board and went to my hotel to try to meet up with others from my group to get some more money. When I arrived at the hotel, other members of my group had had the same problem as me.
The landlady at the hotel explained that they regularly get these problems and that the parking machine may be full of money and would need emptying. She said I could use the hotel car park, so I went back to the car to move it.
There was no ticket on my windscreen, nor any other notification. I feel that having paid £14 and put a full explanation on the dashboard, that having a £60 fine is very wrong.

It is wrong. Write back stating that the fault was their negligence in not maintaining their machine and you will fight this case in court, demanding compensation for your time and expenses to attend the hearing.
