Accident management company not interested in helping

I was recently hit from behind while stationary. At the time I was towing a trailer which was badly damaged. The accident also damaged the tow bar of my van. I contacted my insurance company who where going to put me in contact with an accident management company to repair my van and claim back any uninsured losses, ie the trailer, which is only covered third party on my insurance even though I have a fully comp policy.

When I told the insurance that I wouldn't need a hire van because I said they could fit a tow bar while I waited, they said the accident management company wouldn't be interested in taking on my claim because they wouldn't be able to make any money from it.

I am now at a loss as to who and how I can claim back the money from to get my trailer and towbar fixed, although I think the trailer may be a write off.

What is the point of fully comp insurance policy if when you have an accident no one will help you!?

They summed it up. The accident management company was only interested in making money, not in helping you. Sue the other party directly for all your losses using the small claims track of the county court.
