Where can I report nuisance text messages canvassing for personal injury claims?

I was the no-fault front vehicle victim of a three-car shunt in October 2009. There were protracted delays to the repair of our car, leading to five weeks' hire of a courtesy car. I was nervous of the hire cost re-bounding back on to me, etc. I was also receiving phone calls from third party ‘specialists’, asking me to consider claiming for whiplash injuries, etc. I contacted you at the time for advice on how to proceed. You kindly responded and I reacted accordingly.

Since this time, I have received various e-mails and text messages on the subject of entitlement to injury claims - even from a broker who was not even my broker at the time of the accident. I used them for the first time six months later for subsequent car insurance. (They cease to be my broker as from tonight.) Two and a half years down the line, I still continue receive text messages. This morning, I received yet another of what is a repetitive message. It reads: “Our records indicate you may be entitled to £3,750 for the accident you had. To apply free reply CLAIM to this message. To opt out text STOP.” What can be done to expose these people?

Unfortunately it isn’t illegal to canvass for this sort of business. But still report the matter and the number to the claims regulators: www.www.cueuk.org; www.ico.gov.uk; www.claimsregulation.gov.uk
