Replacing my family car

I've got a 1.6 petrol '55 reg C-Max LX with tiny mileage, and I'm always looking at what I'm going to replace it with. With 2 kids and a wife that could shop for England, I would miss the great boot, so regular 'C sector' cars might not be big enough. I thought the Qashqui would be an interesting next car, but not until they get a lot cheaper!

I can see me running the C-Max for a while, then doing the boring thing and replacing it with the latest Mk3 C-Max which i presume will suffer from typical Ford residuals? Are there any other trendy high-riding crossovers that you can get for decent money?

Keep the C Max. The 1.6 engine in the Qashqai is not up to the job and the vehicle is very low geared.
