Buying a family car with a new baby on the way - what would you recommend?
My husband and I have a Mazda MX5, but are expecting our first baby in a couple of months. We will need to keep the MX5 so my husband can get to work, but need a suitable second hand car for when the baby comes along.
We have £5-6,000 to spend in cash. We clearly want something that is robust and reliable which has large boot space for buggy and luggage etc. - we would consider an estate.
Also, a car that has ISO FIX points for baby car seats. We would like to go for something with a relatively low mileage and not too old, but have no idea where to start with makes/models/ages of cars. Please could you advise in this respect?

The best thing to buy is an MPV because it will mean less bending to tie the baby into his/her child seat as he/she grows up, and consequently less risk of damaging your back. (I speak from very painful experience.) So a C-Max or something like that.
