We will ever see small cars again?

Will manufacturers eventually realise that there is still a need for small cars especially as pressure grows to avoid parking on pavements? And that garages and parking spaces are too small for the cars they are making?

Around where I live most people can't even park outside their garages as the cars are too wide.

It is hard to predict the actions of car manufacturers too far into the future, but one of the key problems is that small cars are almost as expensive to produce as larger cars but sell for considerably less money, which reduces their viability as a product. Much of the infrastructure for cars was designed and built to accommodate much smaller vehicles which is why larger cars have become problematic.

However, as EV technology falls in price and becomes more compact, we would expect smaller EVs to be a more realistic proposition and hopefully a more common sight on our roads.
