Having read the Daily Telegraph motoring section from the last two weeks you have answered worries and concerns I had over speed cushions. We recently took our car for a service. The tyres had been replaced 3 months earlier. We received a telephone call from the garage informing us that the two front tyres had split down to the canvas on the inner side. We check the tyres regularly but as this was hidden from view we had no idea this had happened. We were puzzled until we read your column. You had replied to two other people about tyres and speed cushions. It is frightening to think if we hadn't been vigilant in getting the car regularly serviced what would have happened on a trip to London this week. Thank you so much.

I'm trying to get more exposure for this, but it's like beating my head against Humpty Dumpty's brick wall, so thank you for your support. Another reader suggested re-naming speed cushions “pot hills”.
