Winding down
I recently took my Ford Focus to the main dealer [Allen Ford Northampton] for its 1st. service. I asked them to inspect the window rubbers on the side windows as they were not clearing rain water when operated. I was surprised to by their response. "Ford vehicles no longer have this facility" and nothing can be done about it. Is this an accurate assessment of the problem? Or an excuse not to carry out remedial work under warranty?

Are you saying you drop the windows into the doors to clean rainwater from them? We all try it when we are in a hurry, but preferably in someone else's car because though insides of doors can be very wet places, introducing more water to them can lead to failure of the electric windows and doorlocks. The best way is a chamois left permanently damp in one of the waterproof door pockets. That cleans morning water off the windows very effectively.
