Reliability Index 29 Oct 2006 (Forum)
We are to buy a new car for round about 10K to cover between 6,000 and 10,000 miles/year. First and foremost, we want reliability. I have looked at one or 2 Reliability Index studies but I have no idea how these are worked out, etc. I'm curious though as to how relevant -
Fiat and Reliability index 23 Aug 2003 (Forum)
I was surprised to see Fiat in 3rd position in the reliability index (www.reliabilityindex.co.uk), one place above Honda. Does this put paid to all the flak thrown at Fiats recently in some of the posts? -
Reliability Index - false information? 23 Nov 2006 (Forum)
Those of you who have not seen the reliability index http://www.reliabilityindex.co.uk/ Basically it is a system where every car is scored on its reliability, average mileage and age to breakdown, average cost of repair and average time to repair. The car is then given a Reliability Index -

Reliability 15 Mar 2005 (Forum)
I've just been looking at reliability statistics published by Warranty Direct. Surprisingly the much-vaunted Golf has an index of 82, whereas the lowly Focus has an index of 29. (The lower the figure the better.) Who would have thought it? -- L\'escargot by name, but not by nature. -
Reliability Index Reliable? 15 Aug 2014 (Forum)
!) Av cost repair £321.19 So is the reliability index reliable or are the figures skewed domehow? I also looked at the HJ MOT pass section and this gave different results again! (eg Honda FRV gets awful reliability scores but very good MOT pass scores) So all in all very confused! -
Reliability Index 27 Sep 2003 (Forum)
I see the latest Warranty Direct reliability index has just been published. Some surprises there. But it is interesting to see how the cars are rated. The figure they come up with is a measure of number of breakdowns and the cost of them. Thus Subaru don't do too well because although they rarely -

Reliability ratings.Fact or Flawed? 7 Dec 2012 (Forum)
I have my doubts about taking the reliability ratings for the face value. The top rated car in Reliability Index is Kia Picanto and the "popular" reliable car VW golf is at 97. At first it looked like people's perception is not acually reality. On closer inspection I can see some interesting -
What Car Depreciation Index 29 Apr 2004 (Forum)
What does the BR think of this data? Realistic, reliable? I'm about to start looking at a replacement for the 8yr old Audi and at face value it looks like just what I need to help me decide between sticking with older prestige models that although the depreciation is much lower, run the risk -
CityRover - legendary reliability?? 31 Aug 2007 (Forum)
Hi all, I am somewhat surprised that the CityRover has routinely appeared at the top of the reliability table in What Car? for superminis over the last few months (reliability judged according to claims with Warranty Direct). Though this may not be the best index for overall reliability, it seems -
Audi TT unreliable? 9 Dec 2003 (Forum)
I'm thinking of buying a used Audi TT. Trouble is, their online reliability index is dreadful. Obviously this is a bit worrying as I am thinking of buying one with about 50K on the clock. I'd be interested to hear any views on the reliability of the TT (good or bad) from any source, particularly -

Is there some sort -
Fiat Punto "Axle & Suspension" 9 Mar 2004 (Forum)
Just gave myself a nasty shock by looking up Puntos from 1999 on Reliability Index. Reliability is excellent at 28 but 66.67% of claims have arisen from "Axle & Suspension". If at the front, this could be expensive. Does anyone have any experience of this? Mine is the 1.2 ELX Speedgear CVT 5 -
Honest John's Motoring Agony Column 15-12-2018 Part 2 20 Dec 2018 (Forum)
Re: Faults Economies I agree that (IMHO) the WD Reliability Index doesn't take into account many factors, including the extent that each owner looks after the car (i.e. whether it's home maintained, at a rubbish backstreet indie or a decent one, similarly with the main dealers [whose quality can -
