Just gave myself a nasty shock by looking up Puntos from 1999 on Reliability Index. Reliability is excellent at 28 but 66.67% of claims have arisen from "Axle & Suspension". If at the front, this could be expensive. Does anyone have any experience of this? Mine is the 1.2 ELX Speedgear CVT 5-door, first reg. 29-01-01, current mileage 36,400.
Moving off from cold, I get a rotational noise for the first 25 yards or so, then no more. It sounds like a large stud stuck in a tyre but none is to be seen and the car recently went through its MoT o.k. Any ideas where the noise might come from?
Cheers.

I think noisey rear bushes are a common problem so maybe it was just a lot of these? Also steering column problems, but these mostly done pre-delivery. The noise you hear may just be the brake discs have tarnished overnight, and where the pad was parked you get a patch, so this has to clean up via a few rotations.
