  I have driven Diesel cars for 20 years, and not misfueled yet, (or even picked up the wrong pump nozzle). As I am about to retire, (again), and recieve my state pension, will my brain instantly turn to mashed potato, and if so which misfuel device should I fit?

  Well, It happemned three weeks ago, I misfuelled the Landie with a tenner's worth of petrol. Topped it up with Dieselt (a lot of it !) and all has been well, in fact it seems to run smoother ! Could happen to anyone !

  Caught the tail end of a discusion on the wireless tonight, apparantly you can now get insurance against misfuelling. Wouldn't bother myself, but in view of the cost involved with modern diesel engines perhaps it isn't a bad idea if you are of an absent minded nature. Anyone else heard of it?

  I'm not going to bang on about the wrongs of people who misfuel diesels with petrol. Mishaps happen and the deed is done. When you go to the till the cashier usually confirms the pump and the amount. Why can't they also state type of fuel. Some may already do this, but many don't. The advice over

  hi room, with all this misfuelling debacle why cant the petrol stations have dedicated pumps ie diesel on one side of the forecourt and petrol on tuther? that way at least the numpty in the wrong queue may at least get a friendly nod from the car behind or even better have painted arrows upon
