Oh no (not) a misfueling Disaster. - Pugugly {P}

Well, It happemned three weeks ago, I misfuelled the Landie with a tenner's worth of petrol. Topped it up with Dieselt (a lot of it !) and all has been well, in fact it seems to run smoother ! Could happen to anyone !

Is it - perhaps - fitted with a petrol engine?

I did this to a brand new unregisterd Vauxhall pickup after picking up from another GM dealer in 1991.

In a pre high pressure injection diesel you can get away with up to 10% petrol in the mix, and it will tend to smooth out the mix by continuing to burn a little longer than the diesel does. How you managed it in the LandRover though... now the 535d I can understand.
