  • Battery Change 18 Apr 2007 (Forum)
Is it possible to change a car battery without the need to re-program radio/alarm etc. If you used say an Airflow Battery Conditioner on the disconnected live and earth cables before disconnection and during, would that be enough to hold the codes for the radio etc, reconnect the leads

  • Ford Transit gearbox 11 Oct 2003 (Forum)
I'm a part-time professional driver (people) and often have to drive a Ford Transit minibus (M-reg) which is difficult to get into first gear. An hour in slow-moving traffic leads to an extremely painful left arm. Is it a foregone conclusion that a solution to this problem is difficult
  • Ford Explorer maintenance 22 Aug 2003 (Forum)
My experience of Ford service departments leads me to believe that they have little experience with dealing with the Explorer. • Lexus boss EV warning 23 Jul 2018 (Forum)
Thank goodness we have at last an Emporers new clothes situation from one of the worlds leading companies in alternative power trains. One element that seems to have been overlooked is the need for a high amperage outlet in every house to cope with a quick charge for EVs and the infrastructure may not be there.
  • Another reason to increase taxes on car use? 17 Mar 2018 (Forum)
Ok - they've done the lead in petrol, then the plant food gas, then NOX, then diesel particulates. All have been good for inventing new taxes for governments to fill their coffers. Next it's pollution from tyres. http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-39042655

  • Passat airbag warning lights 4 Feb 2012 (Forum)
Sorry if this is a rather simple and silly question but my airbag warning light on my '99 Passat just came on. I was wondering if it could be a simple thing or something a bit more complex that would lead me to hand it in to a local garage. Any advice would be appreciated. Thx. S.

Just about to fit some new spark plugs. Question is why do they come with a silver bit that you screw on the end (over the end that connects to the lead) and do you need to put this silver bit on? If you do need to put it on then why not make them that way in the first place? Hope this makes
  • American Diesel 22 Jun 2006 (Forum)
Is the quality of diesel in the USA still terrible? Or is the 'diesel boom' leading to better quality? I ask because VW diesels are the most popular there for cars (I think) so if they can run to hundreds of thousands of miles on what they sell there, our highly refined diesel should mean a very
