  a quick search and it appears it could be something to do with the battery not being connected properly. I dont have any further details as she called me on the phone. Would using jump leads help in this situation - ie to find out if it is the battery terminals/connections?

On taking off the lead to the coil and placing a screwdriver over the coil and then turn the engine there is no spark, yet when I go back to the car later and turn the key she fires up straight away.
