  I am looking to replace my diesel Suzuki Grand Vitara with a petrol tow car, idealy one with an auto to tow a caravan weighing some 1350 Kg. I do less than 10K miles pa, and I understand your advice for this sort of milage is to go petrol. The likely candidates that I have seen so

  ‘ that the capacity of the alternator with the HR-V is not high enough, meaning that during towing …….. the caravan can drain the battery’. So check carefully before you buy an HRV for caravanning and you may avoid the expensive mistake we made. For us the new HRV is not suitable as a tow car.
