Buying tow car for a caravan (1200kg)
I need to change my 02 Passat 1.9 tdi PD (airbag warning on, advised new control unit at £575). I tow a caravan (1200kg) and drive approx 15,000 miles per year, to work in the week and longer at weekends, and during summer tow caravan to France (this year 2,000 miles).
I like the Passat but I am thinking of changing to a Mondeo or similar car. Bearing in mind dual mass fly wheels,DPF, ESP and other problems what would you advise? I am looking for a car 12-18 months old.

Nothing beats a Mondeo 2.0TDCI in its class for comfort, space, handling, economy, reliability and sensibly priced servicing.

Spacious and comfortable. Wide range of engines. Big, boot with lockable seatbacks. Generally better from May 2008 onwards.
