  • Renault Laguna II (2001 - 2007) - 01 1.9 Seat and steering vibration/bouncing 27 Nov 2009 (Forum)
aggressive, until 65-70mph when it sort of starts to level out allover the car and is not as bad? Ive had wheel alignment done and one of my front wheels balanced, as well as a new bearing and cv boot? the garage said in the MOT my rear nearside tyre needs replacing, could this be the cause of this? Also
  • Renault Clio II (2001 - 2007) - 2001 1.5 Noises after Cambelt change 18 Nov 2009 (Forum)
. Normally a very smooth engine but now I have ticking from the fuel pump area. I suspect that I overtightened the tensioner so the fuel pump cog has moved slightly out of alignment. The engine now sounds like a Transit Van. The car drives OK, no problems there but power does seem a little down. Any ideas
  • Vauxhall Vectra C (2002 - 2008) - 06 1.8 juddering in reverse only 4 Sep 2009 (Forum)
was faulty and the clutch wasnt quite aligned properly with the flywheel (something to do with some springs). Now, I can change gear much more smoothly, BUT there is no change to the car juddering in reverse. This dealer is 1.5 hours away from me so i'm reluctant to keep going there. I phoned a local
  • Mazda Mazda 6 (2002 - 2007) - 05 2.0 Uneven tyre wear at the rear 7 Aug 2009 (Forum)
checked ? Would a typical ATS/Kwik Fit-style tracking check allow and include adjustment at the rear of a Mazda 6 or should I take it to somewhere which can do a proper 4-wheel alignment ? Cheers.
  • Honda CR-V II (2002 - 2006) - 05 2.2 Offside rear wheel drone 10 Jul 2009 (Forum)
at the 2nd tyre change and the odd thing is that both times the offside rear has had a tread of 5mil, whilst the others have been about 2. Honda say if I pay £100 they will check it's not wheel alignment!!
  • Vauxhall Astra H Sporthatch (2005 - ) - 2006 SXi - Servicing and Alloy wheels. 12 Dec 2007 (Forum)
astra sxi 56 reg, just had it's first service in nov 9,500mls was told wheel alignment was out. seen as the weather is getting colder and snow is on the way i thought best have good tread on the front, checked fronts at 4mm rears at 7mm so swapped about, these wheel's were not removed
  • Brake squeal Clio 1.4 Sport (R-Reg) 3 Aug 2006 (Forum)
shims in the brake pad box or indeed on the old pads, do the wire springs on the top of the pad serve this purpose, or have we missed something out? Also, the wheel bearing was replaced by a garage, could this be the cause/a contributory factor? Could the hub be incorrectly aligned, with a resultant
  • non start polo diesel 5 Dec 2004 (Forum)
so set about stripping it to check in case it had jumped, it all aligned up, so continued to install a new belt, but still had the problem of not starting. I fitted a new fuel filter to eliminate that and now have made a small fuel tank to bypass the tank, filter and pipework and gone stright to pump
  • honda jazz build quality 7 Mar 2004 (Forum)
. The major problem is the the drivers door is slightly out of alignment, I did the £1 coin test, it gets stuck half way down. Did the same for the passender side door, this is fine. I opened up all four doors and looked inside there seems to be weld marks and touch up paint on all the doors. Is this a cut
  • Light Steering 7 Mar 2002 (Forum)
garage give it a test drive. Their description was it seemed as if the speed sensitive part of the power steering was disconnected, but as it has a standard power rack that was impossible. It was due its 40k service so while it was in they did a 4 wheel alignment check on an HPA set up. They say
  • Skoda Fabia - Used Approved Skoda - Previous Damage... 3 Apr 2014 (Forum)
that the rear bumper is not correctly aligned and that the taigate has had extensive paint work done to it in the past - the most likely scenario being that it was in an accident at some point.  Because this constitutes an "external factor" the bodywork warranty doesn't apply. So, I was advised
  • Suzuki Vitara - One forum favourite replaced by another 12 Oct 2023 (Forum)
and pieces. Not much else to go wrong you’d think but it’s had its chance and with our mileage stepping up we need a newer car. Depreciation has been a bigger factor than I hoped,. We paid £3.8k for it and trade in was £2k. Both figures aligned with online pricing tools
  • Adjusting steering for the camber of the road 27 Jul 2022 (Forum)
more pronounced on fast A roads and motorways, although sometimes noticeable on slower roads too. It's a bit more obvious on the Astra than the Tucson. The wheel alignment has be done at various points on the Astra, and is never really much out, and if I let go off the wheel while driving along
  • 2004 Vauxhall Corsa - Hit a kerb- Should I take it to the garage? 29 Jul 2016 (Forum)
, no steering problems etc. I had the tracking/wheel alignment done a week or two ago and the car still drives in a straight line with no pulling in either direction. Everything seems to be just the same however I'm unsure as I don't know whether to just leave it or not. The car feels and drives just the same

  • FIAT Punto II (1999 - 2006) - Fitting new dip beam headlight bulbs 1 Aug 2012 (Forum)
and insert the new bulb. Its a five minute job on both sides done this way. You need a 10mm spanner and perhaps needle nosed pliers to pull the electrical lead off the bulb. Best to check headlight alignment afterwards The Mk2b looks easier than the Mk2 - it uses rubber `caps` over the bulb insertion
  • Ford Focus II (2004 - 2007) - 05 1.6 Very odd inside wear on all tyres 2 Jul 2009 (Forum)
was bald. This seemed more severe than just a alignment issue, so we agreed with the dealer to go no further in the deal until it had undergone a full geometry test. One thing we did note is that the rear suspention bars (i think thats what there called, the hinged bar that holds the wheel to the chassis
  • Vauxhall Zafira B (2005 - ) - 07 1.9 - wont drive in a straight line? 5 Jan 2009 (Forum)
instead of going to 12 oclock, its going to like 10/11 oclock and veering off to the right. Anyway - took it into see if its wheel alignment, and even though was slightly out which they did, no change. If I point the steering wheel straight, the car does drive in a straght line. Just done a 20minute drive
  • any suggestions please 10 Aug 2006 (Forum)
as the whole subframe had to come out, ongoing air con problems (which are still happening ) bad tyre wear even after paying out for the ford 4 wheel alignment, i could go on but dont want to bore you, i need a good, heavy working diesel, that doesnt need things replacing so frequently, many thanks claire
  • Labelled Tyre Characteristics 30 Nov 2001 (Forum)
value for treadwear that I have seen is 280 and the lowest 150. I have a particular interest in tyre wear characteristics at the moment as my 11 month old 10000 mile MB C 200K has knackered a set of rear tyres and badly worn a set of front tyres after all four wheels were found to be out of alignment
