  • Shell V-Power (and other producers) 12 Dec 2012 (Forum)
There has been quite a bit of disscussion on using these higher octane fuels in cars, but has anybody tried them in bikes? I'm at the start of a small experiment, but had to restart as I refused to pay £1.07 instead of the usual price. Boris

  • Vauxhall Astra G Petrol (1998 - 2004) - Exhaust centre box. 21 May 2009 (Forum)
Would not having a centre box on a Z16XE engine be of any benefit other than the initial savings of not paying for it? How would not having the unit there effect the engine, fuel consumption and performance?

I've had my first diesel for four months (Lexus IS 220d) . I see a lot of guys use diesel fuel additives, at the car first service I asked the service manager about using one, and he advised against it. I would appreciate your thoughts. DJ
  • Diesel Tuning Chip / Unit 26 Jul 2007 (Forum)
Anyone use anyone of these above before? These are sold on eBay ranging from £100 to £250. Does it work? Will it improve the fuel economy and provide extra power at the same time? How is this achieved? I suspect there will be side effects to the engine, i.e reducing the life of the engine??
  • True MPG of real cars... 10 Jul 2007 (Forum)
This is an interesting website: http://www.spritmonitor.de/en/ It is full of owners data of real MPG rather than fuel computer or manufacturers claims. It's a European site so it is all in l/100km but if you register you can change your settings to imperial.

  • 60 Tonne Double Artics 14 Aug 2005 (Forum)
Just heard on the news that some hauliers are seeking to introduce these monsters onto our motorways, one chap wants 80 tonners. I suppose as long as they keep to the M ways there will be little effect although they are 25M long. The idea of course is to save fuel.
