**** Poll closed. See the Poll Forum for this weeks Poll. ****
This weeks poll, as suggested by Caveman is now available.
"When you stop for fuel, do you generally?"
Brim it,
Stop at the first click,
Stop at the nearest pound or 50p after the first click,
Other.

Please post comments regarding any problems you encounter with the poll here.
I\'ve run it for a few days \"in house\" so to speak. Mark & NoDosh report that they\'ve had no problems with it. Over to you.

So it's already been subject to multiple voting & rigging?
Fine for me, BTW.

No. I didn't mention the word Alfa once in the testing ;o)

Works fine, much faster than the previous version.
|
Perhaps the "Other" option could be amended to read "I drive a diesel that averages 56 mpg even when I drive like a hooligan and see no reason to carry around half a tank of fuel for over a week before it gets used."
Just a thought ;P

Must be my machine, but every time I try to vote, it tells me I've already voted...

Me too, I get 'Sorry , you can only vote once'.

Re: not being able to vote.
It's done on IP address blocking. Unlike the previous website I used for the poll, I haven't been able to find a time limit setting to allow the same IP addresses to vote again after a period of time. Most people on dial up, whether it be broadband or a 56k connection generally get assigned another IP address when they next connect to the net. If that IP address has previously been assigned to someone else who has already voted, then this could be why you're unable to vote.
I'll look into it.
|
You'll also find that universities, large companies and the like with proxy servers/firewalls have only 1 IP for the whole lot. I worked for one place that had many 10's (maybe 100's) of 1000's of online employeers worldwide and only one extrenal IP address.

Brim and then round up to whole litres by squeezing more out to optimise collection of Shell Pluspoints!

Brim and then round up to whole litres by squeezing more out....
If it's full to the brim, how are you then able to squeeze more in?
|
I think he said he'd squeeze more OUT; didn't say anything about it getting IN anywhere...

Why isn't one of the options "stop at the first gas station you see after the red light comes on and then fill it with as much as you can as fast as you can" ?

Why isn't one of the options "stop at the first gas station you see after the red light comes on and then fill it with as much as you can as fast as you can" ?
Because it wasn't suggested at the time.

That was because the red light hadn't come on then ...
