the sound of the car when it is like this is - lumpy, which I hope makes send to someone! One mechanic has had an educated guess that it's the idle control valve and another mechanic thinks it is the coil packs and ht leads, which is really expensive especially if it turns out not to be an accurate guess

A simple lead acid battery array - nothing fancy. A new deal. Able to park in the City centre at no charge - except a `re-charge

lights are lit. My initial thoughts were spark plugs, alternator but these along with the battery, HT leads and distributor cap are all new and working fine. A new ignition coil has been fitted and not sorted the problem. The garage is stumped. They say there is no spark or fuel going to the engine

i am looking at this for a friend - he had the immobilser by-passed by his local garage. A ignition-switched supply was connected to one of two leads to the fuel-cut off solenoid - behind the cover on the lucas fuel pump. Several other wires in this region (not all) were cut at the same time

". Before the service there was no problem. The problem was only slight at first but it's getting worse. Trying to crawl along on the M25 this evening was a nightmare as the problem seems more acute at lower revs. I'm assuming it's gonna be an electrical thing - faulty coil, spark plug or HV lead
