  • Seat Ibiza S 23 Sep 2004 (Forum)
Can anyone suggest an independent garage which has the diagnostic kit etc that could service a Seat Ibiza S (99 V reg). It has the VW 1.4 MPI engine so it could be a VW independent. I'm just fed up with getting ripped off by dealerships - oh and I live in North London. Thanks, Damaged.
  • 17 yr old\'s insurance 29 May 2002 (Forum)
Trying to get 17 yr old son insured on either the wife\'s 1.8 Focus or my 2.0 Carina. Best quotes so far (Tesco) are £1021 on Focus for wife & son and £1560 for me & son on Carina. Is this par for the course or do any of you out there know better ?

  • Ford Focus (2011) 1.6 petrol - o/s driveshaft oil seal leaking 6 Jun 2013 (Forum)
Is anyone aware of problems with the o/s driveshaft oil seal on the new Focus?    My car is a 2011 Focus 1.6 Zetec. A year ago at it's first annual service (at 8.5K) the dealer reported that the o/s driveshaft oil seal was leaking and replaced it under warranty
  • 4x4's & misreporting 17 Jan 2007 (Forum)
Saw yet another TV news item recently about a London Borough (Westminster?, Kensington?) which is cracking down on gas guzzling 4x4's by tripling the parking permit costs for such vehicles. The reporter was shown walking past a row of parked cars with what I presume was a council representative
  • 4X4's + Small Cars 22 Mar 2005 (Forum)
Yet another mention (on BBC breakfast TV news) about the increase in fatal road accidents caused by the higher numbers of 4X4's on the road, coupled with a statistically higher risk of accidents (as there are more of them on the road) coupled with them hitting smaller cars and killing the occupants
  • The Office! 11 Nov 2003 (Forum)
Ok, again I admit I am seeing Britain through the BBC?s eyes (I have been to the UK in real life once). But this show has me mesmerized! I know it?s obviously fiction, but if even the smallest aspects are realistic it?s very different than the USA. It?s funny too because I was in the UK
  • Best Insurance Quote for no Effort!! 27 Sep 2003 (Forum)
I did post this as a reply the other day, but it\'s so good, it\'s worth it\'s own thread... I found a brilliant site the other day: http://www.insuresupermarket.com here you only enter your details once, and the site goes away to all the big name cpmpanies like AXA, churchill, AA etc. Saved
  • Number Plate Fixing bolts 5 Apr 2003 (Forum)
I have the number plate P111 LWM and I have placed a black fixing bolt inbetween the first 2 1's to give the impression of it being the letter H. However the 1's are correctly spaced and the bolt cover doesn't actually touch either of the 1's and therefore only looks like an H from a distance. My

  • VW Golf - Cat N/S - pay for engineer report? 20 Oct 2020 (Forum)
I am up to speed on the standard advice being 'buyer beware' / 'walk away' etc so I don't require priming on what you're getting into when considering a Cat N/S car, and in all probability won't be buying one.  I'd just like to get a better understanding of why the Cat N/S market is so
  • Ford Fiesta MK6 Zetec S 1.6 TDCI - MK6 1.6 TDCI Zetec S Diesel Leak 13 May 2020 (Forum)
Hi, I have a very bad diesel leak from 1.6 zetec s, I've changed injector seals etc but it's definetely not leaking from there. I had my friend who's a mechanic look, and he got a picture of where he thinks it's coming from, somewhere around the fuel pump. Before he had a look, I replaced

  • Ford S-Max 1.8 TDCI - S-Max 1.8 TDCI - Misfire under load. 3 Mar 2016 (Forum)
Hi Guys, I have an unusual problem with my S-Max... Under load the car misfire's and really struggles to rev. However, the really peculiar thing is that it is particularly bad when the fuel tank is full and becomes less noticeable/problematic as the tank empties. At about 1/4 tank
  • Ford S-MAX - Ford S-Max steering whine - has there been a recall? 5 Jun 2013 (Forum)
Hi, I have a slight whine on the steering on my wife's S-Max. I took it into my local garage for a service yesterday and also asked the mechanic to cast his eye over the steering to see what the problem was. He said he is 98% sure that its the pump and will be an expensive job. The mechanic
