Great car

I’ve been so impressed with this car. It’s lovely to drive at anything up to 7/10ths and in Dynamic mode on a winding road it is actually quite fun, in particular given this is a large front wheel drive car. I actually enjoy it much more than the recent BMW’s I’ve owned, although are better to drive on the occasions you want to push the car really hard. For most of the time the Volvo has it nailed. The tech is fantastic with the pilot assist making long journeys super easy and relaxed. Infotainment is great although as most people say it can be a little distracting to use when driving. Mirrors are huge and can create quite a dangerous black spot but you learn to look over them. Seats are very comfortable front and back and the boot is big enough although maybe not as big as the 5 series or E class. I’ve only had a couple of minor niggles (fixed under warranty) but it’s never let me down and at 67k miles it’s probably one of the higher mile ones around. Fuel consumption is good but I suspect isn’t as good as the 5 series. Does 45mpg nearly all the time so can’t complain. Some reviews say that the D4 is under powered but I don’t get that as it always feels quick and effortless. There are only two things I’d criticise. First is it seems to hold first gear a little too long when pulling away which can make the engine sound a bit strained and unrefined. Second is with the 20” rims the Pro gets (look fantastic) there is quite a bit of tyre roar and they are easily buckled by potholes (about 4 times in 2 years). That said they look so nice on the car I’d spec them again. Remote engine start is great for cold mornings as are heated front seats and steering wheel. Only miss on the spec is that there is no reversing camera or front parking sensors which seems really odd I. Such a large and luxurious car. This really is one of the best cars I’ve owned and I’m struggling to think what I’ll replace it with at the end of the lease in 3 months. Saying that I may see if I can buy it.
