Brilliant but D5 drinks juice.

Quick, enjoyable, comfortable, good looking, practical, and well equipped. But....

I drive briskly but only my big old 4x4's have returned less than 32mpg for me before. Maybe the D5 engine is too much fun to resist.

Pilot Assist is a gimmick but strangely useful.

Mine is an all wheel drive, D5 R-Design. Not absolute top of the range but not poverty spec either. So I'd not expected to have tur turn on, turn off, and adjust the timing the intermittent setting for my wipers!

Auto box changes are far superior to Mercs but not a patch on an Audi. But Audis are so boring.

Did I make the right choice? Against an E class estate, a CLS Shooting Brake, an A6 estate, and a 5 series estate, yes - I absolutely did!

Added to that is the faultless Volvo support network. Mercedes take note!
