Volvo V70 (2007 - 2016)
D5 SE Lux Estate
Great car
I have had my Volvo V70 nearly 6 years, it had completed 127,000 miles when I brought it, now completed 167,000, so relatively easy life for past 6 years. When I brought it I would say it wasn't exactly the best example available but price was good at £5k. I got mirror, door prangs and bumper repaired, haven't bothered with replacing the control unit for bendy HID lights as passes Mot no problem, but hate warning light every time I get in car. I would agree the car is not the cheapest run, I have had to replace swirl flaps, EGR valve, and Turbo, appx £2500, taking into account good price at beginning not bad. The car goes through tires, brakes, discs etc as normal. It is a great car on the motorway, and the seats are the best, never get a bad back. Car door lock on passenger side now not locking by remote sometimes, apparent actuator problem known by Volvo, will cost appx £300 to repair. Todays value of the car is around £3k, so the car has cost appx £1k a year on repairs plus servicing. Not bad I would say considering it is built like a tank, drives like a tank and is more reliable than a Russian tank.
