don't buy it - tensioner and auxiliary belt nightmare
Just wanted to add to the "what's bad" section about the V70. My car is a 2008 V70D5, 185ps model with 88,000 miles. The drive/auxiliary belt became wrapped around the timing belt, snapped it and it in turn has caused serious engine damage, requiring a complete rebuild of the top half of the engine for £3,500. Volvo UK are not interested because, just before I bought it in March 2011, a service was done at an independent garage that was not done to Volvo's specifications. The more I read, the more it seems problems with tensioners and auxiliary belts on this model are quite well known among Volvo mechanics. Avoid.
