Volvo V60 (2018 - 2023)
Estate 2.0 T5 250hp Inscription Pro Auto Start+Stop 5dr
Better than the Germans!
Having owned two Mercedes c class saloons with no problem I was reticent to change camps. The c class estate is pretty but too small to take a two dog, dog crate in the back. The Volvo V60 has more room in the boot and more rear legroom plus much more comfortable seats. In the pro and plus versions the front seats are heated and cooled and the nappa leather is very soft. Reviews state how slow to react the auto gearbox is, r******! The T5 certainly doesn’t hang around and is no problem pulling out of junctions quickly and safely. The engine compared to Mercedes is super quiet with just a pleasant growl when you floor it, the steering leaves you a little removed from the road surface but not enough to be a problem. The head up display is well worth having along with adaptive cruise control, you will regret it if you don’t. All in all it’s a very well designed and well thought out car, the lack of knobs and switches seems like a problem at first sight but many settings are available on the voice control system.
In my opinion it’s a great car and not as common on the roads as it’s German rivals, it’s good to be different!
