Safe, fast, economical and stylish to travel.

I bought this car for trips to and from the East Midlands and Heathrow Airport. The mileage was 3,000 and is now 20,000 it is a 6 speed manual version. The car has loosened up nicely if I’m fortunate to avoid rush hour traffic at legal limits I achieve just over 65mpg. This does drop in cold weather to nearer 60 mpg but in the summer I regularly see over 70 mpg. Most of my journeys are between 2 and 3 hours, I always arrive feeling comfortable with no aches, it’s a stylish cabin that’s well put together, but the buttons on the centre console date the look. Being a Volvo it has all the safety features I wanted, the LED adaptive lighting is simply superb, lighting up the darkest country lanes and helping me see around corners. It’s fast and with so much torque good progress is effortless, the ride on my inscription is much softer than the R design and suits my long distance commute. Classy yet discreet and well built, faults have been few, a rear window replaced under warranty for a failed heating element and possibly the front screen as I’ve just noticed a failed element in the front heated screen. My dealer is superb, great showroom, friendly staff and helpful, all going to make my ownership experience a pleasure. With free road tax and such high mpg it’s a wonderful inexpensive way to travel and I intend to hang onto this one for a long time.
