C30 1,6 iDRIVE

Comfortable. Handles well. Reliable. 50mpg.

I bought this car with very low mileage (20k) from a dealer in Doncaster at what was a very fair price. I have been very satisfied with it so far and I enjoy driving it. I like the Volvo brand as it represents solidity and reliability allied to good design. The only gripe I have had is with the audio system which sounds awful as standard. I have added after-market speakers and amplification at great expense to get it to sound half-decent but I am hampered by being unable to change the head unit for a higher quality one because of the complexity of the cars electrical system. Had I known in advance I would not have bought the car. There are no complaints about anything else though and provided you can live with the sub-standard sound system as provided by Volvo then don't hesitate to buy one.

Fuel cosumption is around 52mpg overall which is excellent. The C30 goes, stops and corners very well and no complaints on that score. Comfort for 4 adults is very good and the pride-of-ownership factor is high.
Maintenace costs are reasonable provided you stick to a trusted independent as franchised dealers are too expensive (aren't they all these days?)
£30 p.a. road tax is a good thing.

Boot space could be a problem and access to the rear seats could be easier but I'm not affected by this.

Overall, a good car and highly recommended.
