A Gem

Always liked them and bought mine as one of the last new ones in the U.K. it’s absolutely lives up to expectation. It’s a golf in drag but so much more. The controls, steering gearbox are all mk6 golf / audit a3 circa 2012 (I’ve had a lot of these) and pootle along the motorway and that is how it feels
- only it doesn’t as you seem to sit lower and more comfortably. Where it differs is throw it it into a bend. It’s wider lower track just seems to carry it through at any speed. It isn’t some lairy oversteer monster but that isn’t what it’s for - it’s a family car you can use daily. But you can absolutely make very rapid progress in it as you can be really light in the brakes. It’s good looking car. It stands out more than any other car with those haunches and nose down stance. Will never get tired of it. It does not need vast wheels or lairy paint - it’s got a purposeful unique look that makes it cool. It is a cool car. Boot is not a problem - I’ve taken it over my wife’s Range Rover on holiday for a fortnight to France and it managed all four of us fine. It’s got a high load lip - well get an estate or otherwise reflect your past it if you don’t like that and that little back hatch is funky. The only thing that is a minor pain is the doors are very wide which is a beggar in wide car parks - but it’s a coupe and all couples are like that. I recommend it to you. It’s a car that will be memorable for all the right reasons. I was going to change mine for GT86 but I have decided to hang on to the ‘Rocco - it’s a keeper.
