Vauxhall Viva (2015 - 2019)
1.0i 73ps SE AC 5dr Hatchback
Paid not a lot and got a bargain
Bought as a local run-around for the boss, who could no longer get easily in and out of her beloved MX-5. She also makes an annual pilgrimage to Wales (360 mile round journey) and more frequent journeys to Yorkshire (similar distance).
The car has been totally reliable and has averaged around 56 mpg. The little engine performs well and the car is quite nippy if you use the gears appropriately. It has no difficulty keeping up with the herd on the motorway.
I am used to performance cars and do not agree with reviewers who query the Viva’s handling and stability. It is absolutely adequate and has no vices. The City electronic steering feature is especially good for parking.
it offers a wide range of standard features including a City Mode electronic steering feature (especially good for parking) Cruise Control, Fog Lights with cornering function, Rear Auto Wipe in Reverse, Exit Lighting and Hill Start Assist. The audio system works well and connectivity with peripherals is also excellent.
So, especially considering the price of the vehicle (we paid £7999 for a pre-registered SE model with air conditioning) on balance I find the Viva warrants a better rating than HJ has given it
