Better than some magazines would lead you to believe

Found my car at a Vauxhall dealer - 16,500 miles and two years old. It was bought to replace a smaller run-about and has fulfilled that role very well. It's full of technology - front/rear parking sensors, auto lights, wipers, see you home headlights, folding mirrors, climate, electric windows with remote control and mine has an automatic gear box. It's not a Jaguar but it goes along the road satisfactorily, is easy to park and I'm getting about 39mpg in the London suburbs. On longer journeys 45 mpg is obtainable at normal motorway speeds. Some commentators seem to think it's a bit sluggish. But I find the uptake is good and the auto box settles down at 2,500 rpm for 70mph. If you want a racing car this is not for you. The rear seats fold down easily and give a flat load bed without a high lip at the rear. Complaints? Well there's no spare tyre and that's about it. I've used it a great deal more than I had planned because it's a competent well designed vehicle. GM sold them by the 100, 000s across the globe before the PSA take over. Hope the new owners do not spoil it.
