Vauxhall Corsa Electric (2020 on)
Elite Nav Premium (7.4kw Charger) 136 Auto 50kWh 5dr
Plagued by poor dealers and range
I was so excited to make the move to an EV, and to make the purchase of my first brand new car.
Two years, a global pandemic and 11500 miles later, I am desperate to replace the car.
We have had some really positive experiences with the car, it's nippy, good to drive and we'll equipped. We have done long journeys (Suffolk to Brighton wit a roof box and a full car) without much issue and have had good luck with public chargers.
But now, the car is in and out of the dealer, who know nothing about EVs, and we are in a cycle of warranty work and ever decreasing range.
Advertised at 200+ miles WLTP, I'm currently using half the battery on my 60 mile daily commute.
The car has also locked up several times, with gearbox and traction motor faults (it's in the garage again at the moment). I have had more breakdowns in my two years with this car than in the 6 years and last two cars who preceded it.
Luckily, she is currently valued higher than the remaining finance, so once she is fixed (no idea on timescales) I will be selling her and getting something Korean.
I'm so sad to get to this point, but I couldn't recommend the car to others based on my experience. The dealers have been useless, the warranty work has been a nightmare to get done due to PSA wanting to control everything centrally and parts are taking forever to arrive.
Sorry Corsa.
