Vauxhall Corsa (2014 - 2019)
1.4 SE 5 dr auto
High Fuel Consumption
Bought the car new from local main dealer, March 2013. Full price £15,000 (plus) but offered with reduction which took the price down by £2000. Had a 100,000 mile guarantee to original purchaser. It was a typical small car that had cruise control, a feature that is appreciated but the 1.4 engine was a tad sluggish; what else could be expected. Kept the car for 14 months and used it principally for local runs. What was disappointing was its high fuel consumption. On a motorway run of 200 miles it provided 34 miles to the gallon but on local runs this increased to 22 MPG yet Vauxhall rated it at 56 MPG average! The engine was checked twice and found to be okay. After 14 months it was traded for another small car that provided 45 MPG on local runs which produced a saving in fuel costs of £100 per month! As a small car it is okay but the fuel consumption ridiculous! It amazes me why others have not reported this feature.
