Great first car or for a small run around!

People may think that its just a Corsa or another bad Vauxhalls but genuinely been an excellent car so far. Family members have had various Vauxhalls over the years from Corsas, Astras, Cavaliers, Vectras and Zafiras. Its a well known brand for me and they have all been excellent cars apart from the Vectra for the obvious reasons which pretty much everyone knows haha. The Corsa D has been nothing but excellent to me as a new driver. I had driven the previous Corsa which was the Corsa C with the similar 1.2 in it and i can say that the Corsa D is a much more refined car to drive which all the major controls being much nicer to use. The Corsa is well known for being easy to drive and the Corsa D is no exception. The gearbox is easy to use with a sensible layout and the pedals have a nice feel to them and the steering is responsive but i will say lacks any feedback on the road which probably due to the car having electric power steering rather than hydraulic power steering. The cars handling is very good and can easily take demanding corners without feeling likes its going to topple over. The 1.2 engine is responsive in town and can cope on the motorway as long as you use the gears correctly to build speed as there isn't much pulling power. The only negatives i can find is that because of the lack of pulling power, you will be in first or second for most hills and if your a shorter driver then the life trim level doesn't have height adjustment on the drivers seat. I haven't had any major issues with this car other than the engine oil pressure switch had gone which is common on the Corsa D's petrol engines which is a very simple fix and this wasn't the cars fault as someone had filled the oil up above the recommended point which caused the switch to go. I can't say enough praise for this car and if i could buy it again then i would in a heart beat. Very cheap to run, low insurance and very smart looking for someone looking for a decent small car as a first or runaround car.
