First thing: Honest John - Focus is better quality? Are you having a laugh? Why? Well, if all of them have been as bomb proof as mine then....
56k miles. ONLY bit of warranty work that was fine was a sticking rear disc calliper at 38k.
Fuel consumption: 53mpg TANK avg on my 96 mile daily, over 4 days (previous) commute. Regularly got 60+ on individual journeys. Not driven like a pus*y either.
Other things: great refinement on motorway, less so at town speeds. Very stable handling and quite chuckable. Great high speed ride. Decent low one. Very stuffable for luggage and nice features around the cabin for storage. SRI seats are superb. Rear bench less comfortable.
