Overall reliability
A comfortable car but many design faults.
The Astra suits my purpose but my main cause for complaint is as follows:-
The usual Vauxhall juddering clutch sydrome.
The indicators, why on earth did Vauxhall choose to fit this stupid arrangement of an electronic module to control indicators and wipers.
Drum brakes on the rear is of an age past.
No temperature gauge which to my mind is an absolute must.
The roof rail covers that blow off on motorways that cost £14.76 each for a bit of plastic to replace. (no small wonder these get stolen if left in a car park)
Inefficient handbrake that is a known fault and prone to release itself.
The radio is not fit for purpose and has too many gimmicks.
Apart from these moans I find it a comfortable car for long journeys
