Toyota Yaris (2011 - 2020)
T Spirit 1.33 VVT-i 5dr Hatchback
wish I had never bought it
In spite of two test drives, I have ended up with a car which is no pleasure to drive and actually causes me pain in my right foot. I find the pedal heavy and very unresponsive which results in a far from smooth drive. I always seem to be pushing the pedal and waiting for something to happen. Then, on occasions, when I manage to get the pedal almost to the floor, it goes frantic and rushes forward.
I previously ran two Honda Jazz with CVT transmission and in comparison they were both sublime. The only reason I did not go for another Jazz is that the dealer is 25 miles away and as I am disabled the journey was getting to be too far. The Toyota dealer is close to home, but that is about as positive as it gets. I reported the problems to the dealer but they said the pedal was as it should be and could not help.
Inside the car the plastics are hard and cheap looking, especially the light coloured inserts on the dashboard and doors. It has plenty of toys but they do not make up for the lacklustre driving experience.
This car has CVT transmission, but compared to the Jazz it is poorly implemented.
