Toyota Verso (2009 - 2013)
TR 1.6 V-Matic 5dr People Carrier
very easy to live with, totally reliable and cheap to run
The Verso is 2 weeks off it's 6th birthday - bought new at RRG Salford who are excellent, it has now done 72,000 miles trouble free miles. Average brim to brim 42.1mpg on v-power. On v-power i can drive it like my old D4D and it will happily and smoothly pull from 20mph in 4th and 30mph in 5th. It uses no oil at all. Other than routine proper servicing it's really not required much doing at all, everything works as it should and it feels like a new car. If I must be picky then the middle row seat buckles can easily catch between the door and frame, so it's got a few paintwork scratches as a result. Oh, dealer replace a couple of hatchback struts under warranty because one was squeaking - that was at 5 years old! The MOT has just been done with no advisories. I've bought a Toyota extended warranty for peace of mind because i'll keep the car for another 2 years at least and then pass on to a relative.
I did the same with my favourite Avensis Verso 6 years ago - relative is still delighted as she's had 6 years of trouble free motoring with a 14 year old 150,000 mile car - perhaps I should have kept that one!!
