Toyota Prius (2016 - 2022)

Overall happy but disappointed with MPG
Purchased new May 2016, overall happy (so far) but cannot achieve anywhere near claimed MPG (although I have passed advanced driving and driving instructor tests). Car averaged around 62mpg mostly urban driving, get around 70 mpg on motorway, this may improve as mileage increases? (be awre that official MPG differs significantly between 15 & 17'' wheels. The car has a lot of tech gadgets which work well, is very quiet even with engine running, but has an annoying light 'clunk/knock' from passenger side of dash/door area when going slowly over speed bumps. The dash also has quite a few irritating creaks/rattles which let the build quality down. Another annoying thing is that cars with 17'' wheels cannot be supplied with a spare wheel and get the useless inflation kit, dealers say that a spare is not available, but I bought a genuine Toyota 17'' space saver spare and crafted a new boot floor panel out of MDF to house things. The car also has a horrible white coloured console with no black option in UK, however a black push on cover (applique to use Toyota speak) is available in USA around £120 and UK dealers can source them at 3 yes 3 times the cost of US prices. Overall I am happy with the car, ride/handling is far improved on previous model. One final gripe for Mr. Toyota UK, models in USA have superior Li-ion battery which UK model does not have, that returns better battery life/performance.
