Fun to own and drive, but problem with electrics
Easy to drive, fun to own. ~55 mpg. Low servicing costs. Bought new in 2004. Started having intermittent problems with interior electrics in 2008: radio kept switching off, central display unit showed blanks for MPG, external temperature, radio station name. Display unit would go off for 10 minutes, then on for 10 mins, etc. Touch-screen controls for heating/aircon couldn't be used when the unit was off, but steering-wheel controls still worked. Dealer quoted €1700 to replace unit so I put up with it for 2 years and then traded in for a Prius-3.
