Overall reliability

A great all rounder for anyone who needs a spacious and smooth family cruiser.

After four consecutive VW passat Tdi company cars when I last came to change in 2016 tax and emissions had become a major consideration and as such this car ticked all the boxes despite having a smaller engine than my previous passats. The interior is vast but a nice place to be and well appointed. The DSG box is a work of art and I would never now go back to a manual. I spend most of my time in economy mode and regularly clock up high sixties mpg on long trips. When you need a turn of speed simply flick the gear lever back into sports mode and it will pick up surprisingly quick and a lot quicker than the official figures would suggest. The seats and interior a well appointed and have an air of quality above the price point. The entertainment system with large screen, DAB Radio, Apple Car Play etc is excellent with the only letdown being the pant built in sat nav. I simply use Google Maps through the built in Smart Link and Bobs your Uncle. The biggest boon for me however is the adaptive cruise control which is a marvellous piece of technology slowing down and speeding up the car keeping the vehicle a safe distance from those in front. After four pleasurable years and 60,000 miles covered the time had come to change. After reviewing all my options I have now opted out of the Company Car Scheme and bought my Skoda Superb off the Lease Company. Looking forward to many years of pleasurable cheap motoring ahead.
