A great idea fataly flawed by poor reliability

We bought our Roomster from my father when it was just 3 years old and having only covered 17000 miles from new.

The first year of our ownership was fine and the car was a pleasure to own. Sadly the problems that started in the second year where the tip of a very large iceberg!.

List of faults we have experienced:

Engine cooling fan would turn on whilst engine cool and drain the battery completely.We had to remove the cooling fan fuse to avoid having to push start the car!

Warning light for fault with Turning headlights came on each time car started even though these lights are not fitted to our vehicle!

Power steering failure light comes on occasionally.

ABS failure and brake system failure lights and buzzer come on randomly.

Engine revs to 4000+ rpm without any input from foot pedal. This happens when clutch dipped to change gear and can be quite frightning in dense traffic!.

exhaust emmissions light comes on randomly

Have been told by dealer that car may require a new engine loom at a cost of £1100. The car is 5 and a half years old and has only 49000 miles on it!.

Very disappointed and angry at poor durability of this vehicle.
