Just a very practical vehicle

Purchased as an ex-demo 6 months old 2k miles. A few weeks after purchase the engine management light showed and Skoda Assist called. The arrived exactly at the time promised, diagnosed a faulty sensor, couldn't be fixed at the road side so followed me to the local Skoda dealer. They didn't have the required part in stock so Skoda Assist brought me home. Within minutes Skoda Customer Services rang to advise that a loan car would be at the dealer within 2 hours and the Rapid would be fixed on Monday. Given that by this time it was Friday noon it seemed a tall order but I had the loan car anyway. In fact the car was fixed by 11am on Saturday. Exceptional service! The car has been faultless ever since. The local Skoda is excellent

Easy to achieve 60mpg. good size boot, rear passenger legroom is excellent and it drives well enough. It's quite a narrow car when compared with a Ford Focus but I see that as an advantage particularly in supermarket car parks with their narrow bays so a slightly less chance of getting dents in the doors.

It has enough kit to suite most probably, rear parking sensors, Bluetooth, air con and heated mirrors. One thing that is missed is one touch up electric windows, heaven knows why this was omitted! However this may have been added to later models. One other thing is that the back seat does not fold anywhere near flat. Fair to say that's not often required given the size of the boot but it seems pointless to be able to drop the back of the rear seat only to find there's no where near a flat surface.

All in all I'm quite happy with it and a fully expect to keep it for a couple of years. Might even by another.
