Overall reliability

Great value and much improved version.

Changed our car from our 2017 Fabia as soon as showroom's opened once more in June as our PCP deal was drawing towards its close. Great deal from Skoda available, with nothing to pay for 3 months, and large discount on built up models offered, as well as generous P/ex.
As a result was able to trade up from SE to SEL version at only a little more than our outgoing deal, and take delivery within a fortnight.
The new face lifted Fabia is a significant improvement all round from its immediate predecessor version. In particular, the build quality has improved markedly from the outgoing model, feels much more solid and put together.
Now shares the family resemblance of other Skoda models, and the three cylinder engine is both sporty and responsive if a little 'growly' under acceleration in the lower gears, compared with the smoother 1.2 4-cylinder version of the previous edition, but it gets away quickly enough from the lights. The interior is little changed from the previous model, and is practical, spacious and comfortable.
The gearing with the 3-cylinder engine seems somewhat different in comparison with the previous 4 cylinder 1.2 version but that could just be due to the engine being new and 'tight'
Overall, very good value, great local dealership, and a thoroughly practical and enjoyable small car.
